Backyard and commercial waterfall builders: natural rock, streams and spillways
A waterfall is a plumbing project wearing rock. Flow rate, weir width, drop height and basin sizing decide whether it sounds like a mountain creek or a running bathtub.

Natural rock waterfalls and streams
We set real stone over a properly sloped liner, with hidden weirs and splash control so water stays in the system. Streams are built with riffles and pools that oxygenate the pond they feed, and pump flow is matched to the width of the falls so the feature runs on as little energy as possible.
Pool waterfalls and spillways
Sheer descents, rock grottos and raised spa spillways tied into existing pool plumbing. We coordinate with your pool contractor or handle the plumbing tie-in ourselves.
Commercial water walls and entry features
Entry waterfalls for hotels, office parks and HOA monuments, with auto-fill, wind sensors and timers so the feature isn't wasting water on a windy afternoon.
Signs you need waterfall help
- The feature you want has to be heard from the patio, not just seen
- An existing waterfall sounds like a bathtub filling and runs a huge pump to do it
- You want a stream that stays wet-looking without running the pump 24/7
- The site slopes and you'd rather use the grade than fight it
What drives the cost
Height, width and rock weight set the price. A 3–4 ft residential falls with a short stream is a mid-four-figure to low-five-figure build; commercial entry features and long streams scale with liner length, stone tonnage and pump size. Wind-exposed sites add splash control and auto-fill.

Victoria's raised koi pond in Garden Grove
“My son found Wes with Koi Pros online, and Wes built this above-ground fish pond for me. It's come out very nice. Every day my husband will come out here and relax and sit by the pond and enjoy the sounds and beauty of the Japanese-style koi pond Wes built for us. We also use it to water our plants with the fish waste, and our plants are very beautiful because of that. We are very pleased with Wes and his team.”
Victoria, homeowner for 30 years, Garden Grove, CA
Victoria has lived in her Garden Grove home for 30 years. Her son found Koi Pros online, and Wes built a raised, Japanese-style koi pond with a waterfall for her backyard. Her husband sits by it every day, friends come over to see it, and the fish water feeds the garden.

Questions about waterfalls
How much water does a waterfall use?
A recirculating waterfall only loses water to evaporation and splash. A well-built 4-foot-wide falls typically loses a few gallons a day in summer; auto-fill valves keep the level steady.
Can a waterfall be added to my existing pond?
Usually, yes. We check whether the existing pump and plumbing can support the added head height, and upgrade them where needed.
